Love Your Liver: Fresh Juice Recipe

What better way to offer up some love to your body in the month of February…..than with a glass of fresh, natural juice loaded with enzymes, nutrients and a burst of fresh flavor.

This is Day One of my new “Lighten Up, Brighten Up” challenge…..shaking the winter blues and weight gain, (although this would be great for anytime of year).

It gets pretty gloomy and heavy around here in the winter months and so I decided to give myself a challenge for two weeks to increase my nutrition, energy levels, mood, and metabolism…in the most natural way I know how, “straight to the cells”…..fresh fruits, herbs and veggies, juiced and blended.

Throwing away all the RULES…..of  nutrition “experts” and my traditional ayurveda training……I’m just giving myself lots of fresh live nutrients and enzymes to support all the cells and systems in my body.

Using the simple and easy to clean! Juiceman Jr. I juiced the following, (all organic), it makes 2 large or 3 small serving:

1 yellow bell pepper

1 golden delicious apple

1 cup broccoli crowns

1 small beet

1/2 sweet potato

3-4 beets greens

2 carrots

This makes enough for me to add a small glass to each of my meals, or to have a medium size glass at lunch and dinner.  I don’t usually drink this as a meal replacement, I feel it adds too much of a blast of sugar at one time.  But rather, I supplement my meal with it.

What I find is that I eat less when I juice, the nutrients satisfy on so many levels that I don’t have cravings, and I don’t work that I’m getting to many extra calories.  You will have to figure out what works best for you.
